Special Content System

Within the ASSISTments platform, the Special Content System gives teachers the ability to create assistance known as student-supports for any problem. Student-supports can currently come in the form of hints to help guide the student to an answer, explanations to explain how to get the answer, scaffolding to break down the problem into steps, and answer feedback messages to help nudge students in the right direction.

To make sure students can request the best student-support for any given problem, the Special Content System run tests to find a student-support's effect on student learning in general or personalized for a given student.

This was initially spearheaded by Dr. Thanaporn "March" Patikorn under the name TeacherASSIST.
